I come from a long line of seanchaí or storytellers. As a child, I always kept a copy of Matilda tucked under my pillow. After gaining early access to the restricted section in the school library, I spent many hours delving into books from popular modern authors to the Greek classics, and more. University offered the chance to bolster my love of the written word through a BA in English and Drama (First Class Honours), followed by a Master’s degree in Medieval Literature (Distinction). I won the Dr. JDA Wallace Award for excellence in academic writing, the Emily Montgomery Travel Scholarship, and the Arts and Humanities Research Council Scholarship for Master’s and PhD study.
